Hearthstone

:cut:

Several existing minions, like Monstrous Macaw and Yrel, have also been updated to include the Rally keyword.

Hearthstone Updates

Dev Comment: Well met! We don’t typically roll out balance changes at this point in the patch cycle, but we wanted to use this opportunity to make a few adjustments. First up, we’re tuning down two standout performers since our last adjustments, particularly in high-rank play: Cycle Rogue and Agamaggan Warlock. These changes are aimed at slowing their pace and curbing how consistently they can execute their power plays. We’re also giving a gentle boost to Quest Mage and implementing a beneficial fix for Quest Demon Hunter. As always, we’ll be closely monitoring the meta and will follow up with additional changes in our next regularly scheduled balance patch.

Playhouse Giant
  • Old: 20 mana.
  • New: 25 mana.
Cursed Catacombs
  • Old: Discover a minion from your deck. Make it Temporary.
  • New: Discover another card from your deck. Make it Temporary.

The above disenchantable cards will be eligible for full dust refunds for two weeks following Patch 33.2.
The Forbidden Sequence
  • Old: Quest: Discover 8 cards. Reward: The Origin Stone.
  • New: Quest: Discover 7 cards. Reward: The Origin Stone.
Gorishi Colossus (Demon Hunter Quest reward)
  • Old: Effect only works on your turn.
  • New: Effect also works on opponent's turn.
Dev Comment:Community feedback highlighted a mismatch between the text and effect of the Demon Hunter Quest Reward, which was causing some confusion. Faced with the choice of updating the text to match the game play or adjusting the gameplay to match the text, we chose to revise the gameplay to improve both the card's clarity and effectiveness.

Introducing Dual Class Tavern Brawl

In Dual Class Tavern Brawl, running from August 13 to 20, players get to build a deck with cards from ANY two classes from ANY standard expansion! You'll start by choosing a primary class, which determines your Hero Power and the first class you can add cards from. Then, you can add cards from any one additional class. This fusion allows for creative and unexpected synergies, enabling strategies that wouldn't normally be possible in standard play. Double the flavor, double the chaos!

Wild Heroic Tavern Brawl

Heroic Tavern Brawl returns from August 6 to 13—and this time things are getting Wild! Pay an entry fee, create a Wild deck using any cards in your collection, and compete in high-stakes games until reaching either 12 wins or 3 losses, with prizing based on how well you perform.

In-Game Event: Umbra's Uprising!

Umbra's Uprising runs from August 5 to 26 and follows the duplicitous Umbra as she betrays her fellow explorers and allies with the Cult of the Damned to raise undead dinosaurs and attack the Lost City of Un'Goro! You’ll complete co-op event quests—earning progress both when you meet the quest criteria and when your opponent does—to unlock rewards along the event track. Complete the entire event track to unlock Staff of the Endbringer (regular and golden), 4 The Lost City of Un'Goro Packs, 2 Random Epic Cards from The Lost City of Un’Goro, and the King Bone Krusher Hearthstone Hero Skin.

Bonus In-Game Event: Lost City Fire Festival! (1 Week Long)

The Lost City Fire Festival is a one-week-only bonus event, running from August 26 to September 2, set in the volcanic heart of Un’Goro Crater. In celebration of the Fire Festival, the Tortollans invite you to join their traditional egg-warming ceremony leading up to the Day of Rebirth. Those who complete the event track can earn the following rewards: 2 Tavern Tickets, 2 The Lost City of Un'Goro Packs, and 1 The Lost City of Un'Goro Golden Pack.
